Re: [Harp-L] Timbre, pitch, intonation

Harri, you don't work with guitar players, do you....

Richard is correct. Many musicians in popular music regard
the harp to be a toy and harp players to be noisemakers --
because a lot of them are! Just ask Chris "Buddha" Michalek. 8^)

You are fortunate you have not encountered such ignorance.
Perhaps musicians are more enlightened in Finland.

Richard Hunter wrote in response to my post:
"Just don't act surprised when other musicians tell you that harp players aren't musicians.
Why be ignorant? Ignorance sucks."

I must have been talking to the wrong musicians because haven't heard that comment before in 37 years. Looks more likely that "sophisticated" harp players tell me that "musically undereducated" harp players aren't musicians.
I may be ignorant in your opinion but I'm going to keep listening to the music I love. Without discrimination for or against what the musician knows about theory.

Harri
