[Harp-L] Re: Harp-L Digest, Vol 42, Issue 34
A 10 and an 8 I have already R & D'd, not even kick. What I would make a
million dollars on is a device to remotely control the guitar players amp down
and lock it, so no matter how high he turned it, it would stay on at best 5.
Now THAT's engineering. I really like the 12 and 10 setup we made, it has so
much more warmth than the Gibson Invader of the early 60's. Anything after 1960
IMO Gibson put out was harsh, non usable for harp. They changed their
circuits, power tubes, just about everything. I did use a Gibson GA55 with 4 x 10
speakers but my own band forced me to stop using it as it was so annoyingly
rough and harsh. And that was with killing the vibrato circuit, which on those
amps weighed the tone down to a mere rumble, found that out by accident.
