  We are way too in to categorizing music.  I am guitly of this (and many other things in the past few weeks).   The JR band persues boundless music--it ends up blues/rock because the acorn seldom falls far from the oak.    This persuit is not just Mr. Ricci's doing--Mr. Starski, Mr. Edmunds, and Mr. Sutton all seem to share this vision.  Sometimes, work is work.   Not all work is good work.  Not all work is enjoyable.  
   
  Many people would say that I'm not being true to myself--not pushing any boundaries--in the field of mathematics by simply teahing high school calculus.   My students would beg to differ.  I fall somewhere in the middle from day to day (I wish I was doing research in the field).  (NAHHHH! I wish I was good enough to play for a living).  All of our jobs are this way.
