Incandescent bulbs produce a yellow light favorable to skin tones.
Halogen or fluoresent lights produce a blue wave that washes out skin tones.

Balanced for day light bulbs are supposed to do just that. I have a couple
in the bathroom at home. How well they work for bands I dunno.
