I am considering getting a wireless rig for live gigs. Can anyone recommend good and reliable models for playing harp? If it is relevant, my mic of choice right now is an Audix Fireball (the newer one with the volume control) - and my amp is a Fender Blues Junior.

alexander already gave a good overview. but let me tell you, a Fireball attached to a wireless xlr transmitter is *really* sweet. mine is a samson airline 77 with the ax-1 transmitter. the ax-1 is about the size of a cigarette lighter, and connects to the fireball. small, weighs almost nothing. i live in northern NJ and have never had any interference problems. it *is* a fixed frequency, so you could get conflicts with band or jam mates, but i haven't.

it comes with a microphone which is pretty nice, but heavy, and without
volume control. still, it's a spare mic. the set, with transmitter,
receiver, and microphone was cheaper than buying the parts separately.

I sometimes like to use the Fireball directly to the PA

so you'd plug the output of the receiver to the PA instead of an amp.

wireless is wonderful. i can't imagine being tethered again.
