RE: [Harp-L] Screw-On Cables
Looks like you've got yourself in a jam there with the hardwired 1/4" adapter. I love the idea, though.
The following will work: as an electrician by day, I use cold shrink alot for wire splices. I'd go to the local electrical parts house or maybe even Home Depot and ask for cold shrink.... "Not Heat Shrink" because it's much thinner. Cold shrink is about an 1/8" thick and tough rubber. Once you get your wire in place with fresh solder, if needed, use your electrical tape to tape the wire "up into place" and then slide the cold shrink overthe cable and follow the directions. I've done this to one of my 50 dollar Monster Cables' 1/4" plug where it comes out of the amp and nothing works better, not even the spring tension relief of the old days.
**Make sure you tape the cable into place so it will not move while applying the cold shrink. Don't be afraid to use extra E tape on the cable as to even out the diameter a little to make the transition from adapter to cable a little more flowing.
that should work.
Good luck
steve
