 Acoustic means acoustic in style and substance.  Small amps are OK for instruments such as bass, electric piano and reeeally quiet guitars, 
and as an accommodation for those seriously disabled from playing anything but electric geeterboxes. 
 
 However Max Yasgur?s ghost is still pissed about all that noise, 
lo those 38 years ago, and he will vex and hex any amp or instrument that drowns out any other player.
