Re: [Harp-L] diatonic harp concerto (was: harp in bluegrass)
From: Tom Baehr <tombaehr@xxxxxxxxxxx>
I'm unaware of any major work for diatonic in a classical setting, and am
willing to be educated on that point. But there are dozens of pieces
written for chromatic and orchestra and/or piano. Either instrument should
work in any genre or era, using musical judgment and good taste.
Howard Levy has a Concerto for Diatonic Harmonica & Orchestra --
problem is that right now he is the only guy that could play it!

Howard performs his Harmonica Concerto
The Catskill Symphony, Chuck Schneider, music director.
SUNY, Oneonta, NY.
BTW--it appears that Howard will be "hanging out" (like most of our tongues
& jaws) at SPAH on Fri Aug 17!
