actually Butter used a 545 pistol but the 540 is really good too shorter very easy to hold.  i have one but it's the straight 540 without the on/off switch and i don't have the cable to conect it anymore but i loved it.

Randy, the sly remarks in response to your post are because the mic is the 
well known Shure mic that Butterfield used during much of his career. If it's 
in good shape, it's worth about 150 to 200 bucks, give or take. Maybe 
someone who really knows will give u a straight answer.
