[Harp-L] Simple Recording Method choices

Walter,
After years of using a small cassette recorder (and boxes of tapes), I invested in a Roland Edirol R-09. I got mine at Guitar Center several months ago. I just downloaded a firmware revision that expands the memory capacity to 4 GigaBytes, which is over 5 hours of recording at 16-bit WAV (uncompressed). It can record at 24-bit and MP3 with corresponding differences in the amount of time you can record.
The built-in mics work surprisingly well (better mic can be added) for loud and quieter music by adjusting mic gain. Downloading files from the SansDIsc of this cigarette-sized recorder into a laptop is easy and the CD's I burn in 16-bit sound good enough for bands to want to use for demos for jobs.
Of course, there are many other good choices.
No regrets on getting a good recorder, I had problems with the MobiBlu and the extra $ to get a good recorder is well worth it.

Can anyone offer advice for a simple recording setup?

I'd like to record myself acoustically when i practice so I can play it

back. I'd also like to be able to upload what I record when it gets to
 the
point where I want to share for critique.

Thank you.
