[Harp-L] re Adding reverb later
Recording engineers almost always set up some reverb in the monitor
mix for singers (and harp players). Puts some life and some shimmer in
the sound. The reverb is not recorded--it's only in the monitor mix.
Later in the mixdown the engineer adds reverb so it all meshes with
the other instruments.
For things like reverb, compression, and EQ generally the engineer
will do as little as possible to color the sound until mix down.
Keyboard players and guitarists always argue with the engineers--they
have these fancy effects and want to use them. The engineers prefer to
put the effects on later.
