I am still pretty new to the harp switching thing, and I can't say it's
something I'd ever consider for performance. Not that it wouldn't have some
benefits, I just think that it would interfere with exploring my options on
a single harp. I do, however, use harp switching as a practice tool. I have
found that I will often have difficulty picking up a new harp for a new song
and hitting those more fickle bends (2 half step, 3 whole step, 10 half
step) when I run my scales at the beginning and end of each practice session
I will just blindly grab two harps an play a first position scale on both
then try (and try being the operative word) to play the same scale on each.
Now, if those harps happen to be a minor second apart, I give it another
shot.
