Mike, I like to watch the dancers (I know this is not the technical
explanation you seemed to be hunting for, and so it may beg the
question). I play to help the dancers move -- not trying to get them
to dance "differently" (that would not be in the groove). Lately I've
been thinking of licks as a shot of WD40 to the dancers hips! --John K.
