[Harp-L] Re: Suzuki Firebreath Problems ...ect.
I won´t take part on the "hush-hush" debate between Winslow,
Jonathan and John or whether a factory should be in informed
about a weak harp part or not.
But there´s a passage John mentioned:
< ......was the thread a while back about the rosewood combs
< which Suzuki uses, and the allergic reactions some players
< had reported when using them.
Years ago I visited Bill Romel in Las Vegas and we examined
our both customized chromatics and also talked about the proper
covers. While my hand-made covers in the shape of the CX 12
are of brass and teflon-coated, Bill showed me his darlings
having ROSEWOOD shells which he had ornamented additionally.
I can´t remember whether Bill had coated his rosewood covers
or not but I think he had. Otherwise, the covers would become
wet by the saliva and all players of Hohner 270 dinosaurs know
what that meant.
Apropos, allergic reactions.
We had lots of discussions about nickel and even alu allergics.
To all those harp friends complaining allergics by certain materials
I only have one answer:
Just choose another material and your problems are solved.
