Great post , Randy!
I`d like to add 2 other anecdotes:
1 - here in Tel Aviv, Israel (where we have suffered quite a few trrrorist bombings in the last few years) you cannot enter any restaraunt, cafe` or shopping center without having your bags inspected, and often being frisked. Ofte when security guards open my harp case I have to explain the contents to them (some don`t even know what it is) - but the best was : last week , when going into a shopping mall , the guard was`nt satisfied with just opening the case - he actually insisted I play one for him!
2- At the same mall, my guitar player works at a music shop. Once , when going in, the guard made him open his guitar case for inspection. I said "that`s funny, he should know you , he sees you here every day". My buddy said "whats funnier is that he inspected my Stratocaster, but missed the pistol tucked under my shirt!"
