I had the same reaction. I'm sure parents of teenagers everywhere are
cringing and locking their doors. I'm sure it doesn't help that I was
almost 13 and everything was above the neck. If his nickname extended
beyond his piano and harmonica skills, I certainly never discovered it.
Despite the fact that I probably looked 20 and most certainly would have
lied about my age back then, he was a perfect gentleman. It all seemed
perfectly innocent to me, but check with me again in 8 years when my
daughter is 12 and I'm installing padlocks. As an agent who practically
operates a halfway house for wayward musicians on tour, I've already
informed the young musicians that they will have to find a new crash pad
in about 8 years when my lovely daughter hits puberty. You should see
my neighbors' faces in suburbia when a tour bus rolls down to the end of
the street.
