Goldwave is free for PCs (I think)
There is Adobe Audition, perhaps a free download for eval - expensive.
If going the PC route you will need a decent sound card, PC cards are
usualy
very noisy and have .20 cent analog to digital converters.
Other option is to buy a recorder with flash memory from a music store; I
think there are some for $100. Have no idea, best aks a music store what
they think.
I have only tried PC with my soundblaster live and it sounds really bad.
Cassette decks still work if you can find one.
