Re: [Harp-L] Here Comes the Bride
I have the Bridal Chorus from Wagner's Lohengrin ("Here Comes the Bride") in
fake-book form.....melody notes and chord names. It starts in Bb, modulates
to G, and then ends in Bb. Because of modulation and accidentals, it works
fine on a chromatic but seems impossible to me on a diatonic. This piece is
typically played when the bride enters.
I also have the fake book version of Wedding March by Mendelssohn from
"Midsummer Night's Dream" that is typically played as a recessional as the
bride & groom depart. It is in C and has only one C# accidental.
If you are there and all set up to play, maybe you could play them both. If
I were doing it, I would try to arrange to have a harp (the kind with
strings) or guitar accompaniment. A keyboard with harp or guitar
samples/synth might work.
If you are interested, email your snailmail address offlist and I'll send
you xerox copies of the two pieces.

Subject: [Harp-L] Here Comes the Bride
My niece's wedding is happening soon and she up and decides that she would
like for me to do the "Here Comes the Bride" part on harp. I'm flattered she
asked, and of course I'll do it. Anyone have a good version they might
share?
