- Thread-topic: New Superlux Harp Mic
Avlex-Superlux has introduced a new harp mic. It is the D112C. The mic is very similar to the Shure 520DX, in that it has a dynamic cartridge, volume control and is hard-wired with a cable and ¼ inch plug. However, the shell on this mic is very unique. It has finger grooves on the top, and is slightly "flattened" on each side, to promote a firm and comfortable grip. Even those with small paws should be able to hold this mic comfortably. It seems as if the mic could offer the 520DX tone in a slightly more manageable package. Also the grille is very cool. Has the look of an old RCA grille. The mic is teal green, and the grille is silver, similar to the 520DX.
The best part is that it will retail for $75, so it may be found cheaper from the larger mail order companies.
If anyone would like to see the one-page Superlux brochure/spec sheet for this mic, you may contact me off-list and I will send it to you. Searching the net for "D112C" will yield a ton of info on the AKG D112 kick drum mic, as the "D112C" is too new to have a lot of info out there yet.
Not affiliated with Avlex or Superlux, just wanted to share this with those who may be in the market for a new or back-up mic.
