  My preferred method of ascii tab goes like this:
1+ 1- 2''- 9'- etc for diatonic,  blow, draw, draw double bend, blow single
bend
1+ 2^- for chromatic, blow 1 slide out, draw 2 slide in.
  People used to other tabs, can usually make sense of this pretty quickly.
As for harp tablature fonts, there is a great set of free truetype fonts
that works with Windows, and Mac OS_X found here:

Between them they cover everything, and you don't need to pay a cent.
