RE: [Harp-L] What is the difference

The "proper" name for the 560/20 is "Marine Band Special 20". "560" is
the model number, and the "20" suffix refers to the number of reeds; 10
draw and 10 blow.
The standard, wooden-combed Marine Band is the model 1896. Hohner took
the Marine band's reed plates and mounted them onto a plastic comb, to
make the harp more comfortable on the mouth, and more airtight. They
dubbed the "new" harp the Marine Band Special 20. The name "Marine Band"
is still engraved below "Special 20" on the harp's top cover plate.

The Special 20 is a great off-the-shelf harp. You should be very
satisfied with it.

Subject: [Harp-L] What is the difference

Is there any difference between the Hohner 560/20 special 20 and the
Hohner
560/20 marine band special 20? I see then both listed on Amazon.com and
are
priced differently.. I need a new c and d harp and would also like
recommendations for a good of the shelf harp.
