RE: [Harp-L] Chain of effects with a Kinder AFB+?

Mike,

Because of the way the Kinder AFB+ affects the signal being fed to it,
it must be the "last link in the chain" before the amplifier; all other
pedals/effects coming before it.
The AFB+ adds odd and even order harmonics to the input signal (be it
straight from the mic or via other sources, such as effects pedals,
etc.).
If you were to put an effects pedal AFTER the AFB+, the pedal could
counteract these added harmonics by "leveling them out", compressing
them or possibly cutting them off altogether. This is not idiosyncratic
to the AFB+. Many guitarists will tell you that there are "strict"
guidelines to follow when stringing pedals together for use with a
guitar.

Hope this helps,

John Balding

It has been a while since I've used the old AFB+. I
did a gig Friday with a band I don't normally play
with and they had an amp for me to use.

I figured it would be good to use the pedal just in
case. In preparing, I read through the directions and
noted that it is suggested not to run other pedals
after the AFB+.

So would you run delay or reverb before the AFB+? I
always did it after, but to be honest, 99% of the time
I use it, I don't use any other pedals.
