When other AI contestants have had two chances to sing the same song on successive nights,
they've always sung essentially identical renditions. Paris Bennett for example, sang Prince's
"Kiss" two nights in a row, and every note, cute pose and well-timed flip of her hair was
carbon-copied each time. But when Taylor had the chance to do "Jailhouse Rock" twice, (and
"Jailhouse Rock" isn't exactly a song with a wealth of improvisational opportunities), his repeat
performance was distinct from the first with different rhythmic emphases and an apparently
spontaneous decision to "talk" one of the lines. Taylor is a real musician (he plays guitar and
harmonica) with a musician's ear and it shows in his vocals. He may not have the vocal range of
other contestants but he sure knows how to use what he's got.
