About five years ago I had conversation with Jimmy Bruno about Tommy.
He said that he wouldn't leave the house for less
than four hundred an hour for studio work.

GOOD FOR HIM!

A while ago at college, I studied Business Administration, and I was taught
"Charge what the market will bare"...

Last night I played a charity gig to raise money to fight breast cancer... I
performed to 300 people....& THAT was my payment. We raised thousands to
fight that horrid disease.
I don't go around offering to play for less than the market rate! I can't
afford to. I NEED to pay my mortgage. But "the money" isn't why any good
musician plays... A good musician will play for the MUSIC.The money is a bonus.

If Tommy Morgan charges 400 an hour, and if he manages to get paid that
amount, it must be because he deserves his due payment for a good job well done!
His clients must be satisfied, or they wouldn't pay his fees... Tommy Morgan
IS a first class musician.

Speaking for myself, when I play on recordings of other peoples work, I just
charge the Musicians Union rates. No problem... Strangely, after nearly 40
years of recording sessions, I've ALWAYS made more money by charging
Musicians Union session fees, than by going for a "percentage" deal... Mostly,
"fantastic" recording sessions never even get a distribution deal, and rarely sell
even 1000 discs...

I just want as many people as possible, to hear, and hopefully to enjoy my
music.
