Re: [Harp-L] deluxes and feedback

Hi,
The trouble with the Shure 520DX is it's response level drops off
dramatically after 4kHz, no clarity, no cut - so the harp player
struggling to hear himself over the band turns himself up even louder than
if he was playing through 520 CM element, or Astatic JT30 crystal -
throwing him into feedback city.
If you're trying to drive your amp hard, it pays to start with a powerful
microphone - I recommend the Shure 545SD wired hot as a mic you can buy off
the shelf, it's been a hit with some of the pro-harp players in New Zealand
 - if you're going to use a Bullet mic get a decent element for it, Shure
CM, Astatic MC151, or the like.
Cheers,
