Michael,
No the LOW F didn't exist back then, regarding "First I look at the
Purse"
I may be wrong but I think Dick used a Bb on the Verses
(The song is in C) and then switched to an F to Cross Harp the solo on a
regular F Harp.
The Verse on Bb harp (third position)
: "Somefellows looks at the eyes" 1b 1b 1d~ 1d
I know Dick spent much time on TB and Little Walter stuff
But I'm hearing a pretty mixed blend of TB/Pucker on most of the Geils
Records
I'd classify it as Blues/r&b/ and funk harp....those 1st two records were
STELLAR & groundbreaking!!
best,
rob paparozzi
ps. Dick's work on Monkey Island is superb, Louis Armstrong's "I'm Not
Rough" sez it ALL!
