When I first got Tip of the Top on CD, I mistakenly assumed Clarke was switching harps on "Blowin the Family Jewels". I played the first half in second position on a D harp, then went to the G in third. The funny thing is, I was pretty accurate copying in second. (up until the low notes appear).
Try it, then tell me if I'm way off base or not. (I could very well be)

And "Blowin'..." is 3rd position diatonic on a G harp.
One of my favorite harp instrumentals ever. The
original recording from Clarke's "Tip of the Top" LP
(also now hard to find on CD) is much better in my
opinion.
