I don't know the details of the health issue beyond the fact that Mark Hummel mentioned it briefly at his show in Orlando last night and dedicated his version of "The Creeper" to James.
 
Mark's relatively new live CD "Blowin' My Horn" is the best representation of how great a blues harmonica player he really is. Buy it.
