Jason, you got a wondrous trombone-like sound using a cupped-glass at 
Saint Aignan at the Friday night warm-up you and New Blood played at 
the bar (Cafe du Commerce?)  The very tight seal you made with your 
hands and your control of the muting effect was really 
remarkable.   I've used cups (soda-cups and cans and whiskey glasses 
and coffee-cups and sugar bowls, etc.) since 1970, but more as a 
resonator than as a mute.  I will try your technique combining those 
two aspects, but you seem to have mastered it.

ps: As for volume, yeah, you're rightfully loud and proud, but you 
ain't inflicting pain with your loudness, nor did I see you or your 
band need to wear earplugs.
