It is my understanding that Shure made a disk with a hole in the center
that could be inserted in front of the 520 elements on the bullet mics.
The idea was to create a more intelligible sound for speech, i.e.
broadcasting/dispatching. Some elements were permanently fitted with
this ring, while others had it as an option.
