[Harp-L] delay

Yo Jimmy-

I use a delay sometimes in live performance and I love it. I don’t have a separate pedal - my delay is built into my amp. If you do decide to get a pedal I highly recommend that you find a pedal with a “tap-tempo” feature. With this you can set the rate of the delay to correspond to the tempo of the song as it is being played. A delay set to triplets sounds great in a slow blues. Sometimes in faster songs I set the delay to quarter notes or eighth notes. I also recommend getting a pedal where you can set both the feedback (repeat) rate and the depth (mix). When used carefully a delay can sound great. If used haphazardly, a delay can sound awful!

Told my guitarist I was thinking of getting a delay pedal.
He was skeptical that you could use one on harp with a
rock band. How many folks use a delay live?
