The outside dimensions of length and width are
different. I don't believe anyone claims that this
affects performance in any way. Plate THICKNESS would
be of significance because the reed travels along this
dimension as it passes through the slot. Thicker
plates translate to more volume but, as the harps in
question have the same plate thickness it is a moot
point.

The reeds themselves (on Marine Bands and Special20s,
as well as Golden Melodies) are identical in length
width and profile. The slots also have the same
dimensions. Additionally, these harps use the same
reed and plate materials.
