If anyone's looking for a decent small mixer at a very low price,
Musician's Friend is blowing out their inventory of Behringer UB-series
mixers at extremely low prices.
Behringer has replaced the UB-series mixers with the new Xenyx series,
and the remaining inventory of UBs is being sold for bargain prices. A
UB802 -- which has 2 mono input channels with mic preamps and 2 stereo
input channels, plus an aux send with stereo return for an effects unit,
plus two tape ins that can be used for line-level instruments, etc. --
is going for about $40. It's a small, lightweight mixer, perfectly
usable for live work, and the preamps are decent (if not my first choice
for critical recordings). At this price, people who need a reasonably
good preamp to front-end their computer soundcard or portable recorder
line inputs might consider it.
Also, Musician's Friend has dropped the price on Digitech RP 100, 200,
and 300 amp modelers. The RP200A now goes for $129. Price drops like
these are often a sign that the unit in question is about to be
discontinued, so you may want to watch this one for even bigger price
cuts if you're looking for an RP.
