Mike Stevens "Bluegrass Harmonica" Book & CD has been extremely helpful to
me as a newbee. It was in his book where I learned of Harp-L. He also has
a page with 12 harmonicas in every key with all the blow/draw notes for
each. I found this extremely useful. I read music but cannot sight read
and play for harmonica yet. (Is there anyone who can? Does that come in
time?) I was able to take the chart and tab my favorite new songs, then I
was able to memorize them. I found this really helped my ear training,
which I was having difficulty with up until then. I made so many mistakes
playing by ear before that the song was not recognizable! Beings I play in
a bluegrass group, I was thrilled to find his instruction. My husband has
noticed a huge improvement in my playing since then.
I love Mike's playing and I'm glad to hear so many of you love his playing
too!
Cathy
