as far as harp players who will be rememberred in a 100 years, i say paul
butterfield will be remembered over popper.
i believe butterfield simply holds a more inherently prominent place as a
seminal figure in rock and roll and blues history than popper can ever hope
to. i think the buddha is a bit prejudiced against butterfield because of
his personal tastes. it's not that i am a blues nazi , heck, my own style
of amplified harmonica is probably as much rock and roll as blues anyways.
probably why i dig players like mark ford and andy just ( and popper i
suppose) about a billion times more than someone like sonny terry.
