Did anybody ever try to use a distortion pedal with a
SM58 mike running into the PA???
I've tried various distortion pedals with vocal mics into a PA over the years. None of them worked well, meaning they all produced either bad tone or heavy feedback or both.
I get great results with my digitech RP200 going into the PA, and I know other members of this list get fine results with their PODs and Zooms and other amp modelers. So as a rule, amp modelers work well -- distortion boxes don't.
Some people on this list also use the Holmes Harp Commander (I or II) into the PA, and that seems to work very well too.
