I did not deliver the answer to the group. Here it is again:

You find sth like that on www.harp-online.de (the site is temporiarily
down because the new owner is working hard on it at the moment!), which
was the former site of Michael Timler now our man at Seydel's.
I have added some "drops" to my wooden Hering Vintage harps and I like
them better now. It can easily been done with a top coat usually used
for finger nails. Mine is called "Rimmer FasterChip Proof Top Coat"
(thank you Ben Bouman for abandoning!)
Simply add some finish onto the tips and place your Harp with the
frontside down and let the drops "hang down" during drying (which will
take a few hours). The more often you repeat the procedure the thicker
the drops on the tip.
This works fin also for aluminium comps. The harps don't smell or taste
bad after complete drying of the finish (but better test it not before
the next day!).
