RE: [Harp-L] ii-V-I question

Help me isn't a I-II-V....It starts on the ! then goes goes up a minor III then to the IV. This riff pattern repeats off a I-IV-V progression.....
I wonder if SBW stole this lick from "Green Onions" which I believe was recorded 1st....hmmmm?

Anyway, a good example in a bluesier context of a I-II-V would be a song off Paul Butterfield's 1st "Better Days" record, The song is called "Highway 28"...a great harp performance too!

Doesn't Help Me use I-II-V (Bbm, C7, Fm)? Maybe not in that order, I
don't know what the heck I'm talking about but when looking at the music
for the song I thought I saw that.

Subject: [Harp-L] ii-V-I question

hey everyone,

having a little trouble getting the "feel" of the
ii-V-I progression (whereas the I-IV-V is like, second
nature practically). can anyone point me to some songs
(or parts of songs) that use this progression in a
fairly "plain" way? something that makes the
progression easy to hear? thanks,
