All true.  My photos are generally taken by my wife, who's good with a
camera and knows what to shoot.  If you can't have someone like that do
the job, try to talk to the photographer(s) before the show and tell
them what you're looking for. Hinting that you might be interested in
buying a good print or two can help.    

On a different subject, the other person I always try to talk to before
the show is whoever's working the PA.  They really seem to appreciate
the attention and interest, along with whatever I can tell them about
how I want the harp to sound (cut all the frequencies below 100 hZ,
boost slightly at 250 hZ, cut 2-3 dB above 8 kHz), and I usually get a
lot better treatment at the console as a result.
