I believe it was 1995, in Detroit.

Larry Adler was the guest of honor at a SPAH in the 1990's (perhaps
around 94?). At that time, a video of his performance was made and
included in the VHS tapes offered from SPAH that year. When I got
involved w/SPAH, I made sure that copies of the this and many other
important videos could be duplicated for sale and did, in fact, take
them to sell, along with many other SPAH tapes, to a Buckeye. They
were also offered at SPAH Conventions from 1996 - 2000. This type of
valuable archival record was important to the philosophy of SPAH at
the time, (the "P" in "SPAH" does stand for "Preservation" after all)
containing much more than just Larry Adler performances.
With the sweeping changes that occurred to SPAH beginning in 2001, I
have no idea what happened to these invaluable resources, if they are
in SPAH archives somewhere, or if they are available for reproduction.
Perhaps those in charge of SPAH at this time may wish to consider the
value of these tapes and find out what the status is. I'm sure many
of you would love to have access to them.
