Tom, thanks for pointing out this clip.

It is important to remember that Larry was an entertainer and he honed his skills in
music hall. He then moved on to Hollywood where he was in the same mould as Fred
Astaire - top hat and tails. He was in several films and in one, The Singing Marine
from 1937, where he played several numbers including one arranged by Busby Berkeley
which featured Larry's hands....

The film was in black and white. The musical number was filmed with Larry playing
under lights which initially showed only his (painted) white hands in the blackness -
like twowhite doves fluttering their wings together - before slowy changing the
lights to reveal his hands playing the harmonica. Very sexy playing.
