[Harp-L] Re: Larry Adler movie

As always, thanks for the great stuff.

Watching Adler's hands move as he plays always reminds me of Sonny Terry, who used his hands quite articulately to shape the sound waves coming out of his harp.

I 've seen it written that such movement as Sonny Terry's has little effect beyond the show of flourish, but I believe it's indisputable that Terry's & Adler's often extravagant hand movements can really influence the texture of the sound.

Of course, both Larry & Sonny also became so lost in concentration that they moved their hands as much to dance as to shape soundwaves.

Who said, "shape every note"?
