Lots of folks comment on these lists about the harp they hear on
commercials, and normally I don't pay much attention. After all, most
commercials are just 15-30 seconds of music, and most of them are
basically designed just to punch the audience's buttons as efficiently
as possible. I don't expect to hear a lot of really ground-breaking
stuff on commercials, and where harp is concerned, generally I don't.
That said, I heard a Coke commerical tonight -- I think it was during
American Idol, maybe during the Olympics -- where the music was Chicago
blues style, and the harp player did some amped chromatic that punched
my buttons more efficiently that I would have thought possible in 30
seconds. It was damn good stuff. If anybody knows who did that harp,
I'd like to know too.
Thanks, Richard Hunter
