Re: [Harp-L] Help with Modes...
Is there a simple explanation for modes? I'm an intermediate player who
usually plays in 2nd and 1st position. I just don't uderstand modes: 3rd,
4th, Dorian, Mixolidian, Martian , etc...it's all very daunting. I was
jamming with some friends on "Straight On" by Heart which is in the key of C
min. The D diatonic fit like a glove. I don't know why...it just did. I
assume it has something to do with modes???
If you are comfortable with charts, this might help.

As Michael Peloquin said, "all mention of position vs. mode refer to the
natural modes of the diatonic harp". or as I would paraphrase, the notes
that are there without bends and OBs.
Peace and music,
Dave
