[Harp-L] Re: Filisko

When Joe first started he was the pioneer, and sold his harps. He has the
right to allocate his time as he sees best fit, with all the different endeavors
he is doing, keeping the top pros fixed up who he has serviced over the
years is all the time he has, or prefers to do. That is his right, he doesn't owe
us anything, he started this custom building process and I know Joe well and
have the utmost respect for him. I don't even ask him for harps as I know
his schedule, it is not just harp making. Sleigh, there are other builders out
there that do a great job. Jimmy Gordon is the third leg of that trio, and I
am working with a great builder who will coming out soon, Joe Spiers. His
harps are every bit is not better than all predecessors. They hold up, have a
fat sound, yet airy to the touch. He is just finding the right materials to
work with , which has been an issue lately. For Special 20's, Kinya of Harpsmith
does a great job. I have not tried a Tim Moyer harp so can't comment on it.
I have over 40 of them to try and keep in tune. Joe is not Dissing anyone, he
has a full life and making custom harps for everyone just isn't part of it.
