I know of a guy who had Bill do those mods and he's quite happy.
Make sure you change that speaker to a 12A100 or a 12A125-0 Weber. Or a nice vintage one. The stock speaker used to be, and it may still be, a 50 watt ribbed cone. It's too harsh for harp and it'll make a huge difference. I know firsthand.
