[Harp-L] Embossing tool.

Hi All.
 
Here's a query.  I recently fabricated a tool for embossing reed  slotes from 
an old reed plate thanks to an idea Rick Epping gave me about a year  ago.  
BUT, what i'm wondering, is there an optimum diameter for a ball  shaped tool 
similar to the ball you get on the end of a tuning fork that would  do the job?
 
Also, i hope you all have a good Christmas and a belter of a  Hogmanay!!
