Two words: Boredom. ;-) Most songs go through cycles. There's. "It's so in no one can imagine it ever being out." Then comes "out," followed by "so out it'll never come back" and finally, with a select group of songs (with "Sally" perhaps being in that number), "so out that it's cool to play again." Among the cognoscenti "Mustang Sally" falls in the "so out it'll never come back" category.
