Every SP20 I do now I get 1 or 2 reeds that buzz and rattle (especially blow
reeds) even after shaving/polishing the edge of the slot with a shim.

Dear _nonametribe_ (mailto:nonametribe@xxxxxxxxxxxxx) , can u post the URL
for us to see this issue of Harmonica Workbench? Thanks.
Re the buzzes, my embossing also seems to cause rattles, which are
sometimes a giant hassle for me to correct; and the further toward the reed base,
the more problematic because the reed can be damaged. I'd like to know how to
emboss optimally emboss without overdoing it. Suggestions will be welcome.
To de-bur, I take the curved Lee Oscar brass tool and try to smooth out
the edges of the reed slot. If necessary, i clean the sides and ends of the
reeds with a file to remove burrs. I also use a thin feeler gauge to attempt
deburring of reed and slot close to the reed base.
When i get burnt out, i go back to the harp the next day.
  Good luck.
