RE: [Harp-L] Tom Ball suggests a Shure SM-54 mic?
The SM 54 is just a tad bigger than the SM 53 and both are low Z and they have an inductor for bass rolloff inside the mic.
If I remember the output is low at about -60db with a very smooth frequency response throughout.
The 54 is less prone to breath pop than the 53. These mics have screen openings on both sides of the shell head as well as the top grill.

Subject: [Harp-L] Tom Ball suggests a Shure SM-54 mic?
On Richard Hunter's site, hunterharp.com, on Tom Ball's suggestions re
getting a clean sound, he mentions the discontinued model SM54 as being a great
high Z alternative to the low Z SM 57 or 58. I just went to the Shure site,
and see no mention of it, neither in existing mics or discontinued mics. In
fact, I see no SM models in discontinued mics. Anyone have any knowledge of
this mic?
ron
_______________________________________________
Harp-L is sponsored by SPAH, http://www.spah.org
Harp-L@xxxxxxxxxx
http://harp-l.org/mailman/listinfo/harp-l
